Dr. Cleminson obtained her undergraduate degree from Luther College in Decorah, IA in both Psychology and Spanish. She subsequently obtained her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL. Dr. Cleminson additionally has advanced training and a certificate in Art Therapy from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She is currently receiving specialty training in Psychodrama at the Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute in New York.
Throughout her career in the psychology field, Dr. Cleminson, has attained diverse experience working inside a variety of settings with individuals struggling with a vast range of concerns. Dr. Cleminson has treated adolescents and adults struggling with severe eating disorders within an inpatient hospital setting. She has also worked with individuals recovering from substance abuse both at a suburban substance abuse treatment program as well as within an inner city transitional program for individuals recovering form substance dependence, incarceration, homelessness and a variety of other complex issues. Additionaly, Dr. Cleminson has assessed and treated adolescents and adults dealing with issues such as behavior problems, depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, and relationship concerns, both within a suburban outpatient clinic and an inpatient hospital setting.
Currently, Dr. Cleminson is the head supervisor of a clinical training program in Chicago, IL, where she trains graduate students obtaining their masters and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology. In addition, Dr. Cleminson has her own private practice in Skokie and Chicago, IL, where she sees adults and older adolescents in individual psychotherapy.
